Fortunately I never had to deal with that. My girls have always been upfront and honest, of course I did set a very good example-

I think i would talk to them about it and make sure they knew that wasnt acceptable and no matter what they could tell me the truth. If it happened again then i would probaly punish tem

my 13 year old son broke my big screen then lied and said he didn't know anything about it I later found out that he was wrestling and put his foot through it I took away privileges but telling him I was disappointed and couldn't trust him anymore seemed to touch him more children want a parents approval when they don't have it it really seems to tug at their hearts good luck

it depens on the lying most of the time i just let them hang them self and that does the trick.
