if ure in ure 20's a virgin and have only attempted but not had sex once

du need a cervical smear? i had x2 some yrs ago, for the sake of it but always wondered if they were necessary?

is it ok if i dont have them anymore.

I think your chances of having cervical cancer is reduced by not being sexually active, but not completely eliminated. I'd still have them. They're only every few years anyway, no biggie!

Oh, yes- it's not all about whether you've had sex or not. Cervical cancer can be present in anyone, virgins included. While it is true that some forms of cervical cancer may be caused by an STD known as HPV or genital warts, that's not the only kind of cervical cancer out there. You should get regular Pap smears every year after you're about 18 or so, and if cervical cancer runs in your family, you should probably start getting your regular checkups even younger than that. Also, I just think it's a good idea to get checkups before you ever have sex as a sort of "baseline," so that you know that everything was fine with you before.

After you turn 18, you should get an exam every year after that. Just because you are not sexually active, does not mean that other things can not go wrong. A cervical smear checks for unusual cell growth and warning signs of cancer. Don't mess with your health just because getting an exam is an inconvenience.......get one yearly.

U STILL NEED YOUR SMEARS THEY COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE SO IMPORTANT TO HAVE THEM THEY CAN PICK UP CANCER ETC

You should have them whatever the level of your sexual acivity
