The wife and I are going to go on a 4-hour ghost tour in Chicago in a couple weeks, led by Richard T. Crowe. Crowe is a full-time ghost hunter in Chicago and the greater Midwest area.

Has anyone done this tour in Chicago, or know of Richard Crowe? I'm interested to know what people think of his tours. The few reviews I found on the web were all very positive.

Not sure if this was the best category to place this in, but Yahoo put Paranormal where it is, so I'll go with it.

By the way, I don't believe in ghosts but I find the local history and the "spookiness", especially around this time of year, to be great fun.

KBW, it's kind of expensive but we don't go down to the city very often, so we don't mind once in a while. I liked his tour because he uses a luxury tour bus with comfy seats and a bathroom! 4 hours on a retooled school bus would not sound nearly as inviting. There are several stops along the way to reload with beer, so I think I'll be happy :) The wife likes spooky fun, so she's into it.

i haven't been on the tour, but i've known of richard crowe for well over 20 years. he used to do a halloween radio show on wgn radio every year, telling the tales of 'resurrection mary', the 'devil baby', bachelor grove cemetary, and other chicago tales and legends. almost any time you see chicago mentioned on a paranormal tv show, richard crowe will be the person they interview. his ghost tour is one of the few things that could lure me back into the city. some day i hope to take it. i think if you're interested in that kind of thing, you made an excellent choice.

I went to the web site. I don't believe in ghosts, either, but this guy might make me believe he is a reincarnated P.T.Barnum!

Good luck. I don't think I would be able to survive a four hour tour with a ghost hunter unless I knew I could write about it and get my analysis published, or be allowed to question his research in a public debate. Also, if I were going, I would be interested in the reactions of the spectators.

How much is this going to set you back and is your wife pitching a fit about it?

I see no reason to believe in ghosts either, but I love old places that have an air of eeriness. I would love to go on a ghost tour. Four hours seems like a long time, especially since I cam only do Chicago a couple of days at a stretch. Please let me know (or post) about your experience on this tour.

Sounds like great fun.Watching the reactions of your fellow tour-takers should be a blast.
