I'm wondering if she has OCD. I've never seen any animal clean itself as much or for as long as she does. Is something wrong?

I think mine has ocd too. She stops playing to clean herself, I've seen her wake up and clean before going back to sleep...the only thing I've not seen is for her to stop eating to clean. We found her in a water pipe so I thought maybe she was a little phobic about dirt after being in there. She even bathes my other cat, often by use of force.

It's a cat thing for sure.

If she's cleaning to the point where she has patches of fur left, well then thats a a problem, a stress or nervous disorder is usually at fault.

My cat does the licking fur off thing. Cats are effed up.

That's just the way cats are. But, if she is starting to bite her hair or develop bald spots where she is cleaning, then it may be a behavioral issue. If you have gotten a new cat or moved, she might be uspset about it. Your vet can help you tackle these kinds of problems.

Cats are very clean animals. They are always licking themselves. Do you remember Snowbell from Stuart Little? He said, " I got to go yawn, stretch, lick myself and if you do it right that can take hours." LOL.

maybe she's just dirty? or trying to get herself off. humans aren't the only species in the world that masturbate.
