I am going against my father in court , because he tried to come after me with a knife 2-3 weeks ago , and physically tried to threaten me and intimidate me with it . so i ran outside crying calling the cops . They came and arrested him .
Now i have the proof with me that he was yelling and screaming at me in a high voice in my Voice Recorder ( i got it because that's how much of a scary situation i am in in my house rt now ).

i started rebelling against my father since i was 17 due to his immoral and violent ways that he treated me . I went through depression , panic attack , social anxiety and everything by the time i was 24. . Due to his nature of lying , and deceit , my mom and bro are also with him . They are all going to go against me in the court . They don't know that i have this recording
and right now my mom and dad went to see a lawyer because i told them i am going to pursue the charge against him .

but I am really worried if i will lose this case in court. Will I ?

you have to be carefull with the recording as recording someone without their consent is illigal and could end up losing the case compleatly for you.
I know in some cases it is okay, but i would seek a lawyer. Most of them offer free conceltaions and they may be able to help you.
I really feel for you, my bf was in a simulare sit with her mother, her mother had the whole family thinking that my bf was the crazy one.
If you have spoken to a doc about your dad when you were having pa, or sa and depression then get his statement as well.
Talk to people in the neighborhood, if he has been yelling and such someone must have heard or seen something. This will help you a great deal.
I would get your mom alone and play her the tape. No mother in thier right mind would stand behind thier hubby if thier hubby is verbally or phsyically abusive twords their children. She needs to know.

What are you doing living in this mans home at the age of 24

I would think that unless you are retarded or something that you'd be on your own by now.

Screaming and yelling at 24 year old freeloaders shouldn't be an illegal offense

Regarding the knife, I wonder how much of that is true and if you haven't any proof of it, you will loose.

Seriously though, aren't you old enough to move out and provide for yourself rather than continuing in a situation that seems "not good" ?

The tape should help a lot, but if you can find any other witnesses that would help, too. I think one of the things the jury will want to know is why at your age you are voluntarily living in an abusive situation. I don't know if this is enough to prejudice them against you, but it might. But the best thing to do is talk to the D.A. who's handling your case.

Dont know enough about the case to determine whether you will lose or not.

But what is to fear of losing? For one, it would be the state trying your father, unless you are talking about a civil case against him for punitive damages. Those are easier to prove but they are seperate from criminal proceedings.

If what u said was true.. you wont lose this..
since he was caught red handed.. knife on his hand and chasing you..
however if possible, try to solve this matter out of court... but since you cant stand it anymore... this might be solve in court better..

You are not going against your father. The state is. Ask the district attorney for direction.

Take all your info, all of it, and get it to the police. Ask for an instantaneous restraining order, and which you would be observed domicile so he would nicely be bumped off via the government. %. a time while your mom and sister are out, so he can not harm them. do not injury your self...it sounds such as you're their purely wish. you have adequate info for a magnificent case against your father. and you do not prefer any confusing info for a restraining order in any case. My prayers are with you. act devoid of postpone!
