Its Your life. It sounds like you're OK with sacrificing your name and reputation for personal gain and why not? It's almost the "in thing" to do these days and from what I understand, modern day feminists teach that being a sl-ut is "empowering" for a woman.

I am a 18 year old college sophomore, When I first started college I was 17 as well. I'm going to tell you that college goes by quickly. You should be a 17 year old, work in a store or find a better place with more pay. Do not take off to become a stripper- an apartment will be there. And most colleges allow freshmen to dorm. Just dorm and save- and unlike me. Don't go to clubs every other night.

I hope you are prepared for the responses you are about to receive....
Anyway as I'm sure you would expect me to say: "school is more important". I don't agree with you stripping however, as I was once a 17 year old girl and do understand that you will do what you want regardless. You also might feel as though no one else is paying your bills so no one else has the right to judge.
I am going to give you my advice taking you and your situation into consideration. Getting into stripping is a very dangerous thing because no matter how many years of college you go through you will not make that kind of money (Cash in hand). This is what causes most girls to continue stripping regardless of their initial intentions. It takes a very very strong women to get up the money and get out of the business. There are other industries such as bar tending where you can make close to the same money and still have your self respect.
There is nothing more embarrassing than a friend of the family popping into the strip club that you're half naked in 5 inch heels on the stage of (Don't think it can't happen because you're states away). I have run into people in Hawaii that I know from NJ.
Congratulations on your early graduation and good luck in college.

OK. I'm not going to tell you ridiculous lies like "no one will ever want you" or "it will ruin your life...FOREVER!" That's a bunch of crap. Unless you're determined to say, join the Mormon community. Or live your entire life in a small bible belt town. And even then, you can always walk into church crying and beg God to turn your life around, and they'll be happy to have you. However, I will say that it's easy to make bad decisions when you're young, and the strip club environment provides a myriad of options when it comes to opportunities to make bad decisions. so you'll have to have a very good head on your shoulders if you're going to do this. Here's the advice I can offer you.
1) stay away from drugs. Seriously. Not only for all the reasons everyone's told you growing up, but also because it's the fastest way to let people take advantage of you int he strip club. Predators will see you are more vulnerable. people will try to cross your boundaries, accost you int he parking lot or private dance area, or steal your money. And you'll lose both your wits and your looks. Having worked as a stripper myself, I've seen many beautiful girls go from being top earners to to the lowliest, desperate to do anything for a buck kinda dancer.
2) Dance to live, don't live to dance. Dancing is a stepping stone (even if it's a fun one). A means to an end. And the great thing about it is you don't have to do a lot of it to make a good income. I wouldn't leave school. If you can't handle everything and really want to keep dancing, quit the store job, but keep going to school. Why do you need that much money? If you sat down and made a budget, I'm sure you could go to school, work a couple nights a week, and still live better than most people your age. or at least at the same level.
3) Never let anyone cross your boundaries. It's never worth it. The jackass that wants "extra" for the cost of a dance? let him go. For every one of those, there's a dozen guys ready to pay full price for a normal dance (or many) and not *****. If someones a jackass to you, walk away. It may seem like the extra money is worth it sometimes, but the emotional toll will make you burn out faster. You'll find it harder to go to work, you'll fell crappy, and ultimately be worse off financially since you don't have the energy. be firm in your mind, and exact on where your boundaries are. And stand by them. Save money. This is called "f-off" money. You keep it so you know you'll never be desperate, and therefore won't ever be in a position to have to put up with something you don't like. Someone's being a jerk to you? Hell, you don't need that. You've got F-off money. So tell just mentally say in your head "hey, f-off" buddy", and laugh and walk away. It takes a little discipline to save. But f-off money is totally worth it. It maintains your independence, however bad things get.
I wish you would wait until your older, because it's so ncie to have a little mroe street smarts than you do at 17 before you start dancing. But, if you're going to, I'd at least like to arm you with some good advice. And stay in school. Because it's a lot more fun when you're younger. You say you should "dance while you can." But you can easily dance until you're, say, 26. Probably much later too. School gets to be a lot less fun when you're 26 and everyone else is 18-22.

If you defer college simply to make money, you more likely than not, will not go back, I don't care if you're deferring it to strip or to run the country! 17 is definitely too young to be stripping! Not sure where you live, but if you're stripping at a club in the United States, laws are being broken! You want an apartment? Get a roommate or 2! Quit the stripping job! Not sure how you're doing it anyway, going to school during the day, stripping at night, in addition to another job?? When do you find time to study? You're 17 now, you can't strip forever, get out now, before you're all used up, all washed up, no education and no one and no place to turn to.

You know your underage, and for them to not know this they are taking a big risk. I would think if they knew they wouldn't of hired you. Does your parents know you are doing this. I don't think you are thinking clear enough cause to just drop out for a semester to just work at both jobs and not to go to college just so you can "buy" an apartment. I think this is really not so important. If you want to save up to buy an apartment you need to go home and get a waitress job. Stripping is easy money but you would not have your respect It fast money and a not so smart way of earning cash. If you did this you might get into something else too. If your asking about advise and suggestions you know your thinking this is not good thing. Why don't you move closer to home stay in college and work at a job and save the money. I am sure your parents will let you do that. Or stay in college and get a job busing tables or waitress, and save your money I take it that your in a dorm and either your payed up for that for the year. The smart way is to STAY IN COLLEGE cause once you take a Semester off you will never go back.

Well see the thing with taking a semester off people get lazy and comfortable just doing what they are doing, but like i said thats only some people. Now the thing with the striping thats all on you. depedns on how you view life and also the state you live in, and if your school is strict or could care less. But these are the years you should be experimenting and trying things just cause you can. But really think about it cause alot of beautiful young women do the whole strip club gig and get stuck in it and next thing you know your in your late 20's still doing it. But I wish you the best of luck, let me know how it works out for you. Hope I helped you, just think it over real good get a gameplan and stick too it. :-0

I can't believe some people. Everyone knows it's illegal to be a stripper at 17. So you're either lying about your age, or the person you work for is lying for you. Either way, one day it will be found out and you'll both be in trouble. Is it really worth it to you?

No. The club would still be heavily fined (and the owner possibly jailed) for hiring someone under the age of 18- whether or not she was able to sign her own notes to get out of school. Being an Emancipated Minor does not make a person an Adult.

My gf (now 42) was a stripper in her younger years (uh, the term is exotic dancer - they don't really strip but you know this). She is a responsible, mature adult who has raised three children; the oldest is in Iraq, the next is a straight-A athlete, the youngest is, well, he's nine with all that entails. :)
Don't get caught up in "the life" however tempting it is. Do your job, take your money and go home.
