Try a FLAT TAX of 23% across the board! That's what I'm pushing for. Hey, if you cut back on a few hours, you'll qualify for *free* health care under the new Democratic plan. The ceiling is 82,500. :)

That $85,000 won't go far in NY, Alaska and Hawaii.
Its nice to think that you shouldn't pay any, I know there are advocates here for that, but then...who pays for the war? The roads and bridges that are part of the Federal System?
The student loans and grants, the medical research, the entire business of laws and courts and Air Force One?
Who pays for the nearly $17,000 worth of gear an infantryman wears daily in Iraq. Who pays for the planes and trains and bombs?
As to how much, well, how much is your freedom worth, in dollars and cents, money on the table Bucko, time to pay the piper?
Maybe you want to lay a few more shekels down when you think of it like that?

Well, assuming you have no itemized deductions, your federal tax liability would be about $9,700 right now. If you have itemized deductions take the total amount and multiply by 15% then deduct that amount from $9,700 and that is about where you will be.
