Thingy is used to described anything really.
Also, There used to be a kids show over here in NZ ages ago called Son Of A Gunn ( the host was called Jason Gunn and the funny thing about this NZ personality is that he has an uncle that is really called Ray Gunn lol ) where there was an alien called Thingee as well.
