No Tealc666. It is not possible to file a report accidentally.
Experiment. Just go to any question and hit that report it button. You will see that there is NO WAY it can be mistaken for anything else. And you can just back out again without having sent any report of violation, as the others have said.

Happened to me last night. You're right, the "report" and "answer the question" buttons are in close proximity of one another. If you're not really concentrating (and I'm sporting an eyepatch right now as well), it's really easy to click the wrong one.
However, if you fully click on the "report" button, another window always comes up to ask you to be specific about the reason you are reporting. At that point, you can change your mind, or choose the area that pertains to your reason for reporting and continue with the process.
That window did not come up last night when I made my guffaw, so I knew the simple mistake I'd made clicking on it did not fully register.
Still, maybe administration could find better placement.

Yes I have accidently hit it yikes they are to close together, however I recently accidentally hit maximum bet on a senior outing to a casino while gabbing with a friend, that button is right up against the spin button. I almost fell off the stool, I had hit the super jackpot by accident and you could hear the dern machine go off all over the casino. I have never played maximum bet ever. Whoopie.

Hi buddy.
It is a little weird is it not that they are so close together. I suppose if you want to report someone then you would look hard for that button and Lo and Behold there it is. Try it and see what happens, the girls say you can back out and you could just hit the back arrow if not sure.
cheers.

I have actually pushed by mistake, but not to worry, there is a cancel button when the report screen comes up.

It's not possible, thankfully. I was going to answer a question once and accidentally hit that button. I glanced up and saw that it thought I wanted to make a report. I was in a panic for a second, until I saw you could cancel it.

There is a process to follow and you can cancell if you ended up there by mistake. I have unfortunately reported some very nasty peoples questions by nasty I mean in content and language--I have a good sense of humor but there is a difference between a laugh and trash and fortunately I am still aware enough to tell the difference.

I was wondering the same thing. I don't know about you ..but sometimes my finger "jerks" or "twitches" (probably side effect of something) and I've been afraid I might do a report. I think I did that one time..but they sent a page where I had to click report again..or yes..I was glad they did that so I could cancel it.

I am not sure either - so I'll push the button to your question - and see what happens!
Not really Warrior King - I would not dare for fear of the consequences that you would visit upon me.
You may very well feel so cross with me that you would raise up your mighty ............ temper and strike me!
And all of you who thought I was going to say something rude should be ashamed of yourselves!

Yes, I did, Teal. I pointed that out myself a month or so ago. I was thinking the same thing. Btw, I am makeitright, not daisyduker. The Yahoo Answers is really making this place hard to deal with.
