Combat America- a 1943 film produced by the United States Army Air Forces and starring Clark Gable. This wasn't a made up (per say) plot or a fictional movie for entertainment- the consequenses were real, because for those of you that didnt know this, Adolf Hitler esteemed Gable above all other actors; during the Second World War he offered a sizable reward to anyone who could capture and bring Gable unscathed to him. I am not placing Gable above any WW2 vet- they all took risks and some of these risks have gone un-noticed and un-sung. Many paid the ultimate price. I merely answered a question about Gable. Gable flew five combat missions, including one to Germany, as an observer-gunner in B-17 Flying Fortresses between May 4 and September 23, 1943, earning the Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his efforts.

Gone With the Wind with all those famous actors and actresses was fabulous. I still remember Leslie Howard as the Scarlet Pimpernel. While I never could warm up to Rock Hudson in any of his movies James Dean did a fantastic job in Giant. Two really great movies.

Gone With the Wind - IMO far surpassed Giant in acting, direction, set, makeup and writing. I liked Gable in his role as Rhett Butler!
James Dean did a bang up job in Giant and I loved him in that role.

wow I I would have to say "Gone With the WInd", I just love that movie...and maybe it is becuase Scarlett was such a strong character. And believe it or not I have never heard of "Giant" But "Gone With the Wind" has always been one of my top favorites of all time. My other all time favorite was the original "Bonnie and Clyde"

Gone With The Wind. Rhett was my favorite character. He was a scoundrel at times, but he looked out for others as well. He was reliable and treated everyone with respect, unless someone didn't deserve it.

Hard one. I loved Gone with the Wind. It is an historical classic, with that, end, throw away line. BUT, James Dean was, I was going to say "drop dead gorgeous" That would not be fitting. He was? What can I say? A beautiful smallish "Giant" of a beautiful man.
