Hey there,

You really need to get this checked by a qualified mechanic for your safety .....

I assume the sound is comming from the engine area...

Is the sound worse when your are turning the wheels ?
Could be low power steering fluid, check the level..

Could be a worn timing belt or water pump etc...
This would need to be checked quickly , if the timing belt/cambelt snaps you could be looking at £1,500 to fix the engine but only £200 to replace the belt etc..

Could be the cooling fan going on constantly (you can see this if you open the bonnet) if your temp is not reading 90 it coudl be an sensor fault etc..

Could be clutch bearings, does the clutch travel all the way to the floor...

Good luck !

mud flaps rubbing on the wheel, brake indicator touching the brake discs warning the brakes are low, wish bone which supports the front shocks linkage broken. if its inside the van it could be the linkage that joins the steering wheel coloum to the main shaft in the engine bay.
