Hiya Blue.

Yep, I love it too..... Best bit is over filling your plate with it so you have to mop it up with buttered bread.

Almost on a par with a nice half time cup of bovril.
I think you're right about the Northern thing... Southerners can't do proper gravy !!! LOL.

Later then Sue.
Dave.

Yup,
I am a Geordie by origin, and despite living down South for many a year, I still say "That runny bewitched tastless muck is coloured water, it is not gravy"
Proper thick gravy, made with the fat and drippings from the joint, cornflower, and away we go.

The stuff I get in restaurants here might as well be called thin soup,or worse.

South a bit from my origins, if you poured this coloured water over a good Yorkshire pud, I dread to think what would be said.

Some fried onion / leek / shallots in there as well for good measure.

Yums !

Bob

you know, i didn't realise how simple it is to catch people out !

but you should "save chip!" from ohh gravy !, lovejoy is missed, and as for sheephead, i'm now convinced he was the main writer of the sketches.

i have gravy with everything, even dip my KFC in that chicken gravy.

The thicker, the better! Especially the stuff that soaks into my chips. Or better still, somewhere to dip my bread in...!.
