True. Cops are called to my house all the time. Every time we have a party cops are called, They say our music is too loud. Lets see,
One time, We were throwing a graduation party. And about half way through the cops show up.
My friends and I are outside in front of the house just talking- really doing nothing but talking. A cop comes up to us and asks us all what we are doing here. I tell him this is my house- And we are just talking.
So he asks for ID from all of us (none of us are carrying them because we didn't need them. At this time, none of us drove.) We told him we don't have any on us- He trys to tell us that he is going to arrest us for loitering.
I flipped- Loitering? I ask This is my house. We aren't loitering- we are throwing a party. You have no right to arrest us.
He tells me he wants to speak to my parent, since I don't know when to be respectful.
I told him that I was told never to be respectful to someone who doesn't respect me. He then asked for my parents again, my friends were held there as I went to search for her.
When my mother came out- All hell broke loose.
Cops are always called to our house for loud music. We didn't get a citation- they continue giving us warnings.
I really dislike cops

Yes, a few years back, It was spring time..I had very annoying neighbors. They would turn their music up...headbanging music.. while I was trying to sleep with the windows up. So when the weekend came, I took all the BIG speakers out on the patio........ cranked that stereo up wide open. Playing some good ole' Country! I'm talkin OLD country. Then I left, went to a friends house to play cards for a couple hours. Came home around 1am. There was a note on the carport door, and a message on the home phone. The local county police had been there. Left the note & called and left the message saying to turn the music down. The noise ordence was affective after 11pm. I didn't get a citation or a warning. I grew up with most of the guys that are cops around here, a lot of them live in the neighbor hood. I continued to do that for a while, but would turn it off at 11pm. LOL aaaawwwww the good ole' days! Geeezzz that was fun!

Happened in Upland, California about 30 years ago. Party was held in a house surrounded by a huge field. Down the street was and across from us was another party. They had a permit to be loud and raucus, we didn't. At about 11 pm the cops showed up, there were people on the roof, in the house, out back by the pool, in front all over so many people that the living room floor caved in. Cops told us the music was too loud, We said what about those guys down the road? They said they had a permit and the owner was a cop. We said okay and my brother cranked the stereo up another couple of notches. The cops said that was good and left. Seems later one of the cops told my brother that the cop who had the party was a jerk, nobody liked him, except for his parties. No, we didn't get a citation, but the cop did, he was closer to other people than we were and 'they' complained about him.

TRUE:
Stupid neighbor B**ch, it was 4 in the fricking afternoon. We were working on my daughters system in her truck. We were playing Bass Mechanic CD and not even cranking it like her system can. This fat cow waddles over and starts yelling that she COULD have been asleep (not was asleep, could have been) and if she was she would have been woken up. She hollered that the music was making her walls vibrate. I told her to shove off. Next thing I know the cops are there. We didnt get a citation. They just said to turn it down.
This is the same b**ch that called the cops because the neighbors kids were riding their play/kids motorized bikes. They were too noisy an it bothered her. Little kids with little bikes that just made a hum sound. The cop laughed at her that time!

True. I have been told by the police to turn it down many times....once during an outdoor concert!
I never got a ticket or anything.
This was years ago.
In recent years, I use pedal boards to give sound effects without cranking the volume into overdrive.
I haven't been to a jam session with other musicians, electrically, in a lot of years.
I have only jammed acoustically in recent years.
As you can tell by reading this, I am middle aged.
