What's really disturbing is the inability to even form a question or spell the simplest words correctly. That's true of some of the adults as well. Especially the "questions" which are really "rants". In many of those cases the lack of logic, poor spelling, etc. would result in a judge signing a commitment order. I especially like the "rants". When someone answers and cuts through the illogical thinking or error-filled discourse, the reaction of the questioner reminds me of Gilda Radner's character on SNL saying: "Never mind".

Yeah we had to go read the encyclopedia, or go to the library. Now they just go to the computer, and print out their answers. Or like you said ask questions on Q&A and let someone else do it for them. Just shows what a mindless society it is becoming. So do not even know where to look for information, how to look up anything on a map. How to find anything in a phone book. They want everything handed to them.
Wait till they get out in the work world and have to do for themselves. Wow are they in for a rude awakening. A lot of them can't even spell, with all the text messaging they do, much less read. We are now raising an illiterate society.

It's so easy for students to get help online now. We didn't have that luxury. Yet how often do students still ask others on sites such as YA for the answers, because they're still too lazy to do the work themselves? Those are the students who will be a drag to society when they're out in the world. Those are the ones who'll take any job and then gripe because they don't get ahead.

I remember evenings that took hours to do the homework. sometimes we got a chance to do a little bit at school but not often. I think kids now have harder subjects than we did. At least I cant do the work they are doing.

I remember! And I remember it with horror.
Think it's great for the kids of today (& us older seniors too) to be able to roam & dig all over the net for what we wish.
I would have done better in school (especially english) if I had had this piece of crap to wander all over the place.

When I first came on here. I went to Cultures and watched the racial slurs fly back and forth and laughed my butt off. I dare not intervene with an avatar like mine because I knew I would be fair game!!!

I enjoy going to the hobbies and crafts site to share what I have learned over the years. What drives me crazy is kids that go there and ask questions re: marajuana and other drug habits. !
