What does this song by the Foo Fighters mean to you? If it helps it's played by two acoustic guitars and sang kinda slowly.

Razor by the Foo Fighters

Wake up it's time
We need to find a better place to hide
Make up your mind
I need to know I need to know tonight

Sweet and divine
Razor of mine
Sweet and divine
Razorblade shine

Patience my dear
We could spend a lifetime waiting here
Maybe this time
I hope I get the chance to say goodbye

Sweet and divine
Razor of mine
Sweet and divine
Razor of mine

Day after day
Cutting away
Day after day
But anyway

Wake up it's time
We need to find a better place to hide
Make up your mind
I need to know I need to know tonight

Sweet and divine
Razorblade shine

I thought this section would be the best place for this question. I know it's not a poem but I'm assuming their are people here with some good interpretation skills and would be willing to lend their skills to help me understand it better.

Never heard the song but have heard of the group.

I think but am not sure that it is kids that listen to this band, so I would attribute the words to mean cutting oneself.

But as it is possible I am wrong about who the target audience is, it maybe as transparent as killing oneself with a razor blade.

If you want to go for a long shot interpretation.....how about life is the razor, "day after day, cutting away...we need to find a better place". Telling us that this life is not good, we need to find a better existence, I could go with that idea but it is up to the listener.

Well.
Razorblades are used for two things 1.) shaving 2.) cutting.
Since they're probably not talking about shaving, they're talking about cutting.
The lines
"Patience my dear
We could spend a lifetime waiting here
Maybe this time
I hope I get the chance to say goodbye"

Seems to be about waiting until the time is right, and if it is he wants to be able to say goodbye before he goes, but he might not be able to.

The lines
''Wake up it's time
We need to find a better place to hide
Make up your mind
I need to know I need to know tonight''

say that he needs to either find a place to hide him and his razorblade, and that he needs figure out if tonight is the night he wants to end it all.

Lots of young people today cut themselves with razors to help them deal with depression, anxiety and other issues. It's not a suicide attempt. It's like a drug that helps calm them down. The writer of the song feels like if his relationship gets better he won't want to cut anymore. He's wrong, though. Cutting is a coping mechanism, and he can only get over it if he learns other ways of coping with his problems.

This sounds like a person is serenading their razor about when they will get to cut themselves to commit suicide.

I think that either it is about suicide or maybe someone. The razorblade could represent someone that he loves but that hurts him.
