Why is it that people go through life with everything falling into to place. I was bullied at school which caused me to have a nervous breakdown and left school with no education, was impetent for 10 years until i meet someone and fell in love, they then cheated on me with another man and went off and married him, my father then died of lung cancer (my best friend) then i went out with someone else and then she left me for someone else, i then suffered another nervous breakdown. Compare that to my friend who has gone through life with nothing bad happening to him he is now married and had has a father who is alive and has never had hes heart broken and has been very succesful in his business?

It is to do with luck, some people are lucky enough to be able to see things in a positive way, or to be able to learn to see things in a positive way.

My mother died when I was six, my father died during my 20's, my bother died after he was atttacked, I lost my job recently, I was bullied at school, I was shy, I couldn't speak properly, and I have been attacked a few times.

I am happy, self-confident, independent, adventurous, and very happy to be who I am. I consider myself very very lucky, because I have chosen to see the benefits of anything which has happened to me, even experiences of mental illness, has inspired me to greater freedom.

It is not what you experience, it is your attitude to it.

Yea, I know what you feel like. It seems everything works out for others and not for you. My life almost ended before it began. I almost died four times... first by being smothered with a pillow when I was a baby, then I almost drowned in a pool when I was five, I contracted a severe disease when I was seven, and I got hit in the head with a baseball when I was 12. My mom died of bc the same year. And my life hadn't even started yet. My faith is all that I had, and its all that I have today. I'm now 23, and looking back the only thing that seemed to make a difference was when I started taking my eyes off myself, and began helping others, then things started changing for me. Don't ask me why, it just did.

When I got off the plane in NZ I was told another brother had died having a heart by pass. Three months later my dad died. I could tell lots more but I cant see for tears. I din`t dwell on it .I went for futher education and got a life .You have to think possotive.

It is obvious that you have had some terrible things happen to you in your life that were definately out of your control. But you sound like you go through life only thinking about the bad things. Just remember that everybody has problems in their life they just deal with them differently. You need to start believing in yourself and having faith that things will start to turn your way. The secret (The book) would be a very great read for you right now.

I am still trying to win the lotto, no luck yet.
Some people are just more sensitive then others. Everyone has some problems,I sometimes compair myself with old friends who have more money and never had to work and their parents are still alive and everything seems so nice for them.
My husband tells me to stop doing that since I only make my present moments miserable.Look at all of the things you have been able to do on your own, you are stronger than you think you are.Good luck.

oh my darling what a horrible time you've had... i'm so sorry bout all of that!
but you have to remember that your friend may not be having as good a time of it as you think, he might just be better at putting on a show. life is never as bad as seems at the time but on the other hand its rarely as rosy as other people suggest!

i think its more to do with some people don't dwell on what happened to them in the past, not do they blame events in their lives on past occurrences
Try to look forward to the rest of your life, and dont let the bad things that happened effect your future

you never know what is happening behind closed doors. Your friend may be the most troubled person in the world, could be that he doesn't show it.
