I think you'll find that if there's an election on 1st November, it will be for the whole of the UK, not just England.
I hope it doesn't come that so soon after the last round of elections in May. We're still recovering from that debacle, and it might turn out to be the lowest turnout of any general election in British history. That can't possibly be good for our democracy.
I hope it's at least next spring before an election is called, but preferrably 2009.

Get on with an election, I feel as if he is just hte deputy 'filing in' until the next election anyway, that fact that he's called 'Prime Minister' is secondary to his position, in my eyes. True, he doesn't seem to be doing that bad a job, well, compared to Tony Blair, but he was still not voted in.
Edit: Billy Connolly also said "Don't vote for politicians, you'll only encourage them", which I love!!
Without them, who would make the decisions? Problems wont go away because there are not polioticians, they will only get worse without anyone having a true voice.

It would be nice to get it over and done with, however I'm forever fearful, that labour will get another term, and that can only be a bad thing, they are to entrenched in their ways after 10 years. Time for a changing of the guard, and the sooner the election comes the sooner i become resentful toward the idiots in this country who don't agree with me.

You're forgetting about Wales and Scotland - general election would cover there too.
Lies = policitians,
Policitians = liars.
The great Billy Connolly said once that whoever wants to be elected as a policitian should forever be banned from doing just that.
Use your vote, if you have one. Otherwise, if/when it all goes belly up, you can't complain really.

I can't wait. A general election is one of the only times we get to decide how our country is run.
