In the animal kingdom... are female animals treated the same way as their male counterparts? Or is one gender always more superior than the other?

Since humans are really just animals with the biggest pair of brains... and we are all born with animal insticts... what makes some feminists think there will ever be equality?

Can you name a specie of animal/insect that has total male-female equality?

Krenao: Thats very ignorant of you to say "Animals don't have feelings. They have instinct."

The only thing that sepates a man from an ape is his more superior mind. So i guess youve never had a pet before?

I don't think it is a matter of male and female animals being treated in the same way by the species.

I think animals do have equality, in that each has skills and abilities that are necessary to the survival of the species, and therefore need one another.

Some genders may seem seem superior to others in certain circumstances. For example, the female of most species chooses her mate, and the males all compete. So the female could seem more powerful in that instance.

At other times, however, the tables are turned. For example, female lions do all the hunting while male lions wait around for the kill. However, with other species, the male does all the hunting.

I think your question is too broad to be answered correctly.

weak
humans are the most nihilistic of all the species...anyways
Where you are going reminds me of an Orwell story, Animal Farm.
equality is a man made concept

Lyrics by Dead Prez
Once upon a time
There was a very serious situation growing
There was a farmer and a farmyard filled with animals
And this is the story of their times

Verse 1
Old man sammy had a farm
Walked the land with the wife
Most of the time **** was calm
His whole life was maintained off the everyday labor
From the mules in the field to the cattle in the stable
This is how we kept food on this table (maxing)
You would have thought he was disabled by the way he be relaxing
Acting like mr. magnificent
But the animals were thinking something different
The sentiment was tension in the barnyard
Throughout the years they had been through mad drama
With the farmer, word is bond
And they all came to one conclusion
They argued there was no way they’d ever be free
If it was up to humans
Therefore the only course left was revolution which was understandable
And since the pigs promised to lead in the interest of all the animals
They planned a full attack
Under the leadership of hannibal
The fattest pig in the pack
The next morning on the farm
Everything was calm
Just before dawn
But before long
The sun got so hot it made the farm seem electric
Now check it
This is when that **** got hectic
Directed by hannibal, the animals attacked
Old sam was in a state of shock
And fell up on his back
And dropped his rifle
Reaching in vain
Each and every creature from the field at his throat
Screaming kill, feel the pain.

Chorus
This is the animal in man
This is the animal in you
This is the animal in man
Coming true (2x)

Verse 2
After they ran the farmer off the farm
The pigs went around and called a meeting in the barn
Hannibal spoke for several hours
But when talks about his plans for power
That’s when the conversation turned sour
He issued an offical ordinance to set
If you not a pig from this day forth then you're subordinate
That’s when the horses went buckwild
One of them shouted out
You fraudulent pigs, we know your f.ucking style!
Hannibal’s face was flushed and pale
All the animals eyes full of disgust and betrayal
He felt the same way sam felt
They took his tongue out of his mouth
And cut his body up for sale, for real
You better listen while you can
Its a very thin line between animal and man
When hannibal crossed the line they all took a stand
What would have done?
Shook his hand?
This is the animal in man

*ironically it is actually man in animal allegory, nuttin natuRal here*

oh and to answer your other question many animals share in the upbringing of their offspring, penguins come to mind

Whether or not any animal species exists that has total male-female equality is largely irrelevant, because animals don't care if they don't have equality. Our closest living relatives, the Bonobo (type of chimp), lives in a society where the male is subordinate to the female. But guess what? The males don't care, and they're not "fighting for their rights". This also isn't the case in any other animal species. Whichever gender is oppressed doesn't seem to mind.

However, with humans, it's different. Human females definitely DO mind being oppressed, and if anyone tries it again we will certainly fight. And what would be the result of that? We'd *all* be f*cked.

Also...if what you're trying to say is that human society *should* have inequality, then who's to say we shouldn't follow the matriarchal Bonobo model, since they are the species that is closest to us? They're the most intelligent primates in existence (besides us), and Bonobo society is very peaceful, not aggressive like other primate societies.

I'm not actually suggesting that we move to a matriarchal society, because that would be unfair to men. I want an egalitarian society, because that would be fair to all. I'm just pointing out that, if you're arguing for inequality, you may be shooting yourself in the foot.

that's on no account an animal rights team. Animal rights communities do not hate on any animals, whether that's not that animal's secure practices they're attempting to sell. I for one love canines and that i'm disgusted while everyone seems to be merciless to them. I even choose them slightly to cats yet i'd be purely as indignant if somebody have been merciless to a cat because of the fact that's the two unfair. They sound like a team of nutcases and that i doubt they are going to bypass very a great way. The loopy old cat lady from The Simpsons consists of strategies.

Penguins, if the documentary _March of the Penguins_ is accurate.

But really, the question is irrelevant, since animals do not have the complex social structure humans have. Monkeys do not compete for jobs as surgeons or stockbrokers. Elephants do not indoctrinate their young to wear dresses if female or "keep a stiff upper lip" if male.

Nice try.

many animals perform functions with the female as lead and some animals have very aggressive males that lead. However, animals have no social norms, politics, or gender roles. They run on pure biology. so, we cannot compare say a kangaroo to a human. it would be unfair.

Animals have very little sense of politics. I know that female elephants tend to dominate over the males, but the females and the males of the elephant world tend not to spend much time together — the males gather into "bachelor herds" prior to fatherhood.

There may be examples of gender parity somewhere in the animal world. But in general the two sexes have different duties and different priveleges.

But we human beings like to think (or pretend) that we are more advanced than animals. So, sorry, you can't point backward and say that that is the way we should go. Or at least you can't do it selectively.

i think bird have gender equality. when the female born a baby, the male feeding the baby. but most of the animal, the female are more dominant. except tiger, snake, fish, and kangoroo ithink. because most female insects often kill the male after they f***. the first female buffalo who born the first son automatically become the leader in their community.

This is a very humorous question I have seen in a long time. Animals don't have feelings. They have instinct.

Humans are not animals if you look at history we have evolved from 2.2 million years ago.
That seems to apply today how?

Your trying to compare apples and oranges.

You can't. It's an obscure correlation your trying to find. Its like saying every time I get an ice cream in NY, a kid in India dies.
