the other way around? I think people who blame today's problems on TV are trying to find an easy way out. It's easier to say it's the TV instead of addressing some of today's issues. Yes, we didn't see a lot of things on TV years ago but then again a lot of these things weren't happening years ago. I mean there are probably some things on TV that shouldn't be there but you can't say that everything is the fault of a TV program. I mean people need to step up and address the real issues. I am just curious as to what your thoughts are on this matter.

I think that TV shows are a reflection of the society. It exposes the cracks in a society and it provides a social and political commentary.

Also, we live in a desensitized society and thus, we only notice societal problems after it is being shown on TV.

well considering society was around way before television i would have to say tv reflects society and before anything can be put on tv someone has to have that idea in their head anyway. We don't put something on tv and then someone get the flipping idea for it. lol. But I'm sure that tv can have influence on especially younger children and teenager that don't have good role models in their lives. So if parents don't monitor watch their children watch on tv or sit down and discuss the stuff they see with them then the children may start to imitate what they are seeing so I would say in that way its kind of a circular thing. tv reflects society then people see the tv and mock the tv and it never ends.

I am so tired of people blaming the TV, music, etc. for what happens in their life. I do not allow my children to watch the news because I have seen far worse stories on there than on many TV shows. If it were as simple as unplugging the TV to get our lives back on track, more people would do it. If people would accept responsibility for their own actions instead of blaming everyone else, we'd be a lot better off.

Depends on what kind of TV

some movies is just plain stupid, over dramatically and ridiculous. There also programs that advocates wrong values, and it's not just people simply shifting the blames

I grew up with other teens, I grew up with TV, I can tell for a fact that during my teen years, there are some of my peers who love watching gangsterism movies because they think it's cool. They think gangsterism is cool, they idolize such movies, and believe me, they emulate it. They gets into fights in gangs just for the heck of it (they do not have the true intentions to kill anyone).

TV have a big influence on people.
