Should he get benefits?

I believe he gets benefits as an employee of the government just like many of us do from our employees. His salary should be whatever Congress sets it at. And $83,000/yr sure doesn't sound p to me either......

There are over 6 billion people on our planet. to assume that there is purely one you've an invaluable relationship with is somewhat naive. once you're fortunate, you nonetheless locate the guy eye-catching after the honeymoon era, and the rest is artwork to maintain that going. A "soul mate" is a superb thought, yet i don't think of it is in any respect useful.

My wife and I raised or 5 children on a hell of a lot less than $83,000 per year. How many of you would turn down a job that paid you $39.90 per hour, pretty sweet deal $39.90 and you get free government supplied health care while the guy that makes $39.91 gets to pay for his (and your) health care.

President Bush gets paid $400,000 per year which is less than CEO's of most Corporations

His salary should be high. He is the President of the United States. I don't think he gets enough but...he doesn't complain.

$83,000 is not poor.

My husband makes quite a bit more than that and Democrats want to tax us as RICH - we are not RICH and $83k is not poor.

Me and my wife will be lucky to earn 30k this year. Why is it that I am paying off the bottom of my house payment? So I don't have to pay so much interest. I will pay off a 30 year mortgage in 5 years and 10 months. And save over 45,000 in interest. Poor me!.

I have no idea where you are going with this. What does his thinking about the level that the government should pay have to do with his Salary (which is set by Congress BTW)?

If you're going to try to come up with something witty, try a bit harder.

You have got to be kidding. Poor means not enough food to eat, not enough clean clothes, inadequate or no housing.
The poverty rate in the US is $32,000 for a family of four. It is an arbitrary and ridiculously high figure.

Mr. Bush is right to try to put a stop to creeping socialism. This bill is a back door attempt to socialize medicine in the US. People with children should buy insurance for their children. Parents are supposed to be responsible, not government.

Mr. Bush's salary is almost nothing compared to chief executives of companies in the US. Your so-called comparison is not valid.

If 83,000 is poor, then I'm in poverty. Give me YOUR paycheck if you think socialism is a good idea.

That's the funny thing about liberals. They want to give hand-outs with everyone ELSE's money. They need to get their hands out of my pockets.

The average income in the US is only about $40k a year. this is double that. Clearly in the middle class. In fact just $17k more a year and Kerry wanted these people defined as rich and their taxes raised.

Tell it all.
Not only that if you think that 23 years old is still a child.
You want 50 cents/ gallon tax on gas is OK.
To expand a program to illegal aliens too is OK.

Than you pay for it.
