Without even ans. the Q you can give a thumbs up or down?
You can! And it seems many others are doing just that.
My advice to you folks:
1.Count how many folks have ans. & compare results to see if they tally up.
2. Read the ans. from other folks, even if it has been closed up & give your own thumbs if you wish.
3. Please don't let a good Q or A get dumped.
4. Only send in a violation if "you" feel it is really needed.
I will most likely get a violation just for informing you of the thumbs.

example: The other Q I asked this morning has had 8 folks reply with 10 thumbs up & 5 down.
See! You don't need to ans. A Q at all.
There was no reason for the down thumbs-they were good ans.

I'm getting the "hang" of it now. I haven't done it before. Do these thumb pts count on our other pts? Does your ans. get taken off if its thumbs down? People need to remember to give stars when they tell you it was a good Q. I'm trying to do this too. I think I've only given 2 or 3 downs..but not on here. They were cruel ans. After that my comp. went haywire..so I don't do it at all now.

Agreed; if I may add; thumbs up or down is not because you agree or disagree, but rather because the answer is in some way exceptional in wording or content. Personally feel that reported answers would be a rare actions based on serious
anti-social/digusting answers.

There is another thing about thumbs. If you have missed a q and you go back and read best answer you can still give a thumb up and give them another point. I think I got that right. It depends on their level though.

I wished they'd take the thumbs down away. Then we could judge the question better. If they don't agree they sure won't hit the thumbs up!! Judge by the most thumbs up!!!

Yep, I knew that and have in fact given thumbs up on answers to a question, without actually answering it myself....particularly if I had nothing more to say than was already said.

I often give a thumbs up when the question has already been answered and often I don't answer because someone has said what I would have said.

Hi Dragon, It seems to be happening more and more. If you have answered sensibly then who cares about the thumbs down.

Don't take it personally. I'm sure it's just people who go through doing it for fun. I got my very first violation today and had my question removed. I wanted to share a cute video on a dog dancing to music from Grease . (?)
