Mascara isn't supposed to be messy. You're using the wrong kind and/or you're not applying it correctly. Everyone smudges their mascara from time to time when they're applying it. Go slowly and apply one coat at a time until your lashes look how you want. If you smudge it, lick a Q-tip and dab off the smudge. You an also dip the Q-tip in non-oily makeup remover or a little lotion. The other option is false eyelashes, but if you can't handle mascara you probably won't be good with them either. You can also go to a professional salon and get semi-permanent eyelashes placed. I don't know how much this costs, so you'll have to call different salons and check around. Good luck.

I use a base mascara first... it's white and lengthens lashes. when that is dry I apply a waterproof or smudgeproof mascara. I did use baby oil to take it off.. but didn't really like the mess. Then I found a gycerine bar soap for your face... neutragena makes one- but I bought mine at the Dollar tree for a buck. it's a CLEAR complexion soap and it takes off the make up like a charm! ALL of it! the only mascara that I have found so far that doesn't come easy with it is Cover Girl- fantasic lash... that stuff is TERRIBLE to get off!

I use a mascara called Too faced, it thickens and lenthens and I find it much better to get off. Its still a bit messy but whereas most mascaras smudge under the eyes and make you look like a panda when you try to wash it off, the Too Faced stuff comes off in clumps when you rub it and then you simply wipe away the black clumps but it dosen't stain your face at all. Its good stuff and much cleaner than normal stuff to get off!

it's was also a pain to remove for me too and i always had lashes break off, so i started using neutrogena lash tint and it comes off very easily with just warm water (a little expensive though)
