unfortunately you might have to pay and if you think about it just might be a small price to dish out for your happiness. If you hire a lawyer and you have a good one he/she can ask that their fees be paid by him if he has a job and makes more money than you. I am going thru that right now myself and that is how my lawyer explained it to me. It is drawn up in the divorce papers and then the judge decides, but know matter you will have to put the money up first. Good Luck!

You do, initially. Probably wouldn't be hard to have as part of the divorce decree that the ex pay the lawyer fees. But upfront it's out of your pocket unless you can convince him otherwise (fat chance).

you can include that in your divorce papers - but, mostly likely, you will have to pay it. Maybe you can find a lawyer that accepts payments(after a little money down).

The one seeking the divorce is not necessary always the one that has to pay for it. Attorney's are known to stick the other spouse with the bill.
