Both the Democrats and Republicans (especially recently) seem to believe that all problems should be solved by government. Ron Paul favors less government, and that's why he has appeal. Unfortunately for him the press only covers the 3 front running Democratic and 4 front running Republican candidates and Paul gets little coverage. I am afraid that if he does run as an independent it will ensure a Hillary Clinton victory and she is big government personified. I hope he gets enough votes to have some effect on the Republican platform.

Yes they do. I was a democrat before I was schooled in libertarianism by Ron Paul. The republicans I know HATE Ron Paul and his supporters. But those same republicans are extremely jaded and closed minded and prejudice. They just can't handle the facts. I think democrats tend to be a tad bit more open minded and therefore respect Ron Paul and his supporters. Plus, most liberals will agree with Ron Pauls foreign policy, which is what got me interested in him.

You must've run out of space when you were typing everything that Ron Paul proposes . I hate it when that happens , don't you ?
Anyways I'll help finish the job .
Ron Paul wants to abolish the CIA
Ron Paul wants to abolish the FBI
Ron Paul wants to abolish Homeland Security
During one of the debates , one of the stupefied moderators asked him ... . if you want to abolish the CIA , the FBI , and Homeland Security , then how are you gonna have any Intelligence on homeland and foreign affairs ?.. . .Ron Paul never did give an answer .
Gee , now that I look at all of the facts , I'm more inclined to ask Ron Paul supporters . . . Why are you so blind ? Why do you hate the USA ?
BTW , I agree with the first answerer. . . Ron Paul refuses help from special interest groups. .. . .. . because he's crazy enough all by himself .

We really have to stop misusing the word "hate". I am a long time conservative republican. I do not support Ron Paul nor did I support Pat Buchanan. They are on the right side of some issues and on the wrong side of other issues. They have every right to their opinion and to try to persuade people if they so desire. But most people do not agree with them on some very important issues.
The main reason he is unacceptable to me, are his isolationist and monetary views. There is not enough room to expound on these subjects but I recommend you do a bit of research regarding the actual causes of the Great Depression.
We do not hate people we do not agree with.

I have nothing against Paul. he seemed like a good, refreshing candidate, until i heard his appalling (to me) viewpoints on the military. I can't back someone who doesn't believe in a very strong military. i like some of his other views, but as one other answerer posted, his lack of support for federal intelligence and police and security agencies is shocking to me as well.
Paul is like any other candidate in that there is good and bad about him (except Hillary, who has no good side, and is pure, unadulterated evil). But unfortuantely, while i appreciate his libertarian market-based economy views, i cant suppport his views on the military, and those are even stronger to me than his economic views. no hate, just no support.

I don't hate Ron Paul. He gives the same answer on the War on Terror as Cindy Sheehan.
So I don't take him seriously.

No one hates Ron Paul. He is a fringe candidate. His only supporters are on Y! Answers, posting questions to try to drum up support.
I am opposed to Ron Paul. I will not vote for him.

I'm a liberal. In my opinion he can't be bought, so therefor the establishment is afraid of him. I don't agree with his politics, but I do trust his morals.
