Someone told me years ago that if you take a certain vitamin (or something like that) when you have a cold it gets rid of it double quick. Any ideas? I have a stag night tomorrow and the way I feel right now, I'm not going to enjoy it. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

1. Take antioxidant vitamins and/or foods BEFORE you get sick, to be strong at not going down.

2. "Starve a cold, feed a fever". However, water and fluids are mandatory. Drink plenty of water. Mom's chicken soup had lots of broth and it was hot - that's what does the trick.

3. Singers should chew on lemons to keep their voice. Athletes should reduce the power and try to maintain aerobic or just cut it slightly until you are ready to grow again.

4. Those who burn the candle at both ends, STOP - a cold is nature's way of telling you to repair damage at once. Get rest. Now.

Join the club, I'm sitting here feeling rotten to with a cold, sore throat, blocked nose and a fever. Can you postpone your Stag do? It's an event you'll want to remember and enjoy, so I would postpone it if I were you.

Advice, drink lots of hot drinks, tea, coffee, honey and lemon with boiled water (an old remedy that apparently works). Get some sore throat sweets, take paracetamol, put some Vicks vaporub on you and brathe the menthol, and sit back and chill. It will take time to get over it, and don't bother going to see your doctor (like some people have suggested) because he/she won't give you anything for it (they never do), they always say it will run its course...

Oh, poor you. I just got over this.

I was advised to have a lie down after drinking a cup of tea with a large portion of whiskey. I did. I passed out for 3 hours. When I woke up I felt much better!!

However, if that is not an option, try taking vitamin C, plus a tablet of mult-vitamins. Also drink lots of water, and try and get a lot of bed rest.

For sore throat, The ginger fry with little sugar ( No oil or water) and make it like chocolate colour will kill the cold. It's kind spicy to keep on your mouth but it is great madicine for cold.

I belive vitamin C is good for colds, so drink some orange juice. However i doubt it will make you better much quicker.

Echinacea is great for boosting your immune system and getting rid of a cold quicker. Also I turn on a vaporizer and sit over it with a towel over my head and it and breathe in the vapors. It will be nasty because everything will start running out(Have tissues ready!). I usally do this and then feel much better.

When my friend has a cold i cook him a hot curry, which makes him sweat, his nose run and his face go red (he's a bit of a lightweight when it comes to curries lol) but the next day he is much better.

Just a suggestion...

You need to take vitamins to prevent a cold Vit C, not once you have it.

Go the chemist and get some day nurse or night nurse depending if you are working or not. Swig a few glugs and believe me it will relieve all symptoms!
