Is a blood clot the same as Throbosis? My friends mom has another blood clot, but this time not in her leg. The Dr says its quite serious. Isn't thrombosis specifically for your legs or is it a general blood clot? What can one do to help?

Yes thrombosis also means blood clots in your circulatory system..... it's fatal once not treated..... because if those blood clots will travel to the heart...... she might get a heart attack or worst she might even have a stroke if it travels in the brain.... because a blood clot can block the passage of blood that delivers oxygen to the rest of our body......!

Blood clots on legs is called Deep Vein Thrombosis..... because most of the blood clots starts to develop in our legs due to the weight we put on our lower part of our body...... and the consistency of the blood has a role to play for it's development.... then when it develops it starts to travel on the rest of our body..... it's a very serious problem..... the best to do is see a doctor probably a nuerologist...... because it's their specialty. Tell your friend that he or she needs to give all the loving care he can give because his or her mom doesn't need to be stressed.
