I think it is interesting that so far all but one of these liberals just respond with something stupid rather than responding to what you have said. They don't seem to care that they have been lied to they just hate Rush so bad they don't care what is true and what is a lie. They have just proven your first line of what you said "liberals shallow head that stops them from hearing what was actually said." They don't care to listen.

Except that Rush never talked about anyone like that when he made his "phony soldier" comment.
He and a caller were calling people who called in, said they were in Iraq and disagreed with the policy "phony soldiers."
It was only after the fact that Rush tried to backpedal and put the genie back in the bottle, when he talked about how he was actually referring to something that was never mentioned before or during the conversations in question.
Then he replays the clip, but with 75% of the conversations edited out to try and show "in context" that he was right.
Sorry, but only the truly stupid are buying this. Oh wait, I guess his fans are all on board.

Okay. I've heard the full audio clip, and it looks to me that both sides presented in this argument are wrong.
... Listening to the clip it sounds to me like Limbaugh was accusing the previous caller of lying when he said he served in the military. So like I say... The left are misinterpreting Limbaugh's comment and saying that he's accusing all soldiers who are against the war as 'phony', and the right are defending his unsubstantiated accusation that the caller was lying about his military service...
Is that the case, or is there more info I'm missing out on?

I think as soon as you put the words, dems, far right, far left, liberals, republicans in to a post or a point of view, you will certainly just call for a defense, lets just put out the truth ok, then we can decide who the liars are..
It boils down to two things, truth v. lie ..
Just that simple..
Blame v. innocent
If you think about it, isen't that how this whole war got started in the first place?.. I just wonder who the victors will be..

I am not a Rush fan, in fact I don't listen to him. But this whole thing is about silencing the right by the far left. Moveon and media matters have continuely hurt the democrats with their smear campaigns, against Gen. Petreaus, O'Reilly, Coulter, Hannity, and now Rush. This just helps the Republicans and I am glad Rush fires back and put the loons in their place. I am sure this will not deter the lefty loons, but the moderate liberals will begin to get fed up as it begins to hurt their election chances.

Didn't he serve like 44 days in basic training before they kicked him out and lied about being Iraq.

Maybe you ought to get your facts straight. Rush didn't mention that soldier for nearly two minutes; back-peddling when he realized what a stupid thing he had said. I am a veteran and I am pissed that he calls anyone that does not believe in this horrid war a phony. The only phony is a drug addled, deferment chicken hawk that hasn't the nerve to face a veteran with his BS.
