I have been working with 1st priority to get my credit up and get a mortgage, my husband and I have credit scores between 520 and 630 and getting a lot better because we have found out what we owed on and are almost paid up. The issue is the mortgage woman I am speaking with says I will have a loan in 3-6 months but isn't really responding to me with what I need to do and where I need to go, she contacts me like once a week if that even if I call or e-mail her, should I change companies?

there are many companies that can help you....there are companies that offer fast credit repair that can fix your credit within 1-2weeks.
If you havent paid anything LATE in the last 12MONTHS...then you should be able to do a FHA refinance.

there are only a few lenders that are FHA approved....or know how to do FHA. this may be why most loan officers dont offer it.

Mortgage originators get paid (usually ~1% of the loan value) when a loan closes. This woman realizes that you are AT LEAST 3-6 months away for even applying for a mortgage.

The industry is in a serious slowdown and she is probably focusing on closing loans that will bring her some income. I don't think getting contact from someone about once a week or even once every other week when you are months away from actually needing her services is out of line. She isn't a credit counselor, she is a mortgage loan originator.

If, when you are closer to getting a loan, the unresponsiveness continues, then find someone new.

Good luck!
