Can you help me in Sid Meier's Pirates Game?

I am having a lot of trouble in finding the buried treasures and finding the family members. I searched nearly for 1 whole month in the game and I couldn't even find any of the landmarks. Please help Me.

uh ya have to read the map and the compass, learn the landmarks. There is no cheat for that, you just have to learn the basics of map reading.
