Good morning! No, I don't believe so. You'll read a lot of 'questions' here about that and of course the extreme left Socialists will try to blame Bush, but any intelligent person who researches that bill can easily see why it was vetoed.

Families making 82,500 a year, have no business getting FREE health care. Cigarette taxes would never have paid for this and the Dems knew that. Within a matter of just a few years, to cover this ludicrous health care bill, it would have taken 22 million more people to begin smoking.

Bottom line: Just another way to make us dependent on the government. A sneaky underhanded way to make Bush look bad. And simply one more thing to defer attention from what really is going on up on the hill. They knew this would never pass and did it intentionally.

Actually no, the Bills had bi-partisan support and given this issue, the Iraq issue as well as a number of other issues most Republicans are trying to distance themselves from Bush and his administration. Bush very soon will only be an afterthought in Americans minds.

The only person who would really be affected if (or when) he decided to run for national office would be his brother Jeb. After 2 failed Bush administrations Jeb has very little chance of being elected President as so many hoped would be the case a few years ago..

God I hope not because everything will become socialized and as hard as I have worked for things I may just lose my mind. They would be making my life a joke and money really worthless.

Plus many peoples new homes would be the hospital and then if I need care I can not get it. So the working class is the class that gets shafted here.

NO! People who make $60,000 a year don't need government assistance! Why don't you learn a little about what you promote?

EDIT: You want Bush to play a political game? Isn't that the problem with or government today? Sorry, I'm glad Bush is taking a stand and not changing who he is or whats right. If the American people want a politician the doses that then vote in Hillary Clinton. Clinton seems to change her views depending on the crowed she is speaking to. So, If we vote her in then we get what we deserve!

I think congressional investigations of all the 'bushie' shenanigans will go a lot farther.
Though, if Bush keeps vetoing bills that have high public support, and individual Republican Congress members are on record for voting against them - that will help, too.
We need Democrats in for a while. Government spending priorities are all messed up.

No.

The bill was equally divided among the US population. Further, by doing this veto, he helps bolster the (r) base. It is a net gain for the (r) party.

no he probably saved the chances of the GOP. This bill would just move america one step closer to socialized medicine which in itself is communistic. do you realize that families that pull in 80K per year would be eligible for this?? It's just gonna suck in that many more people to mooch off the governments help. Bush's intentions arent to screw people of health care, it's to help families move closer to being able to afford a private plan more.

If your a family that makes 60K per year and you pay for a private plan, do you want family X who makes 80K per year to mooch off of your tax dollars so he can get health care that he wont have to pay for. That's what Bush's intentions was in this veto.

Who cares. You do what is right, and he did. One thing you must remember is that most people don't remember details from one crisis to the next. This veto will be long forgotten before any election and if brought up during campaign time - who cares.

President Bush is supposed to be the Representative of the American people, working to make OUR lives better and easier.

He has sent over half a TRILLION dollars to Iraq, although not ONE person in that country elected him, or even VOTED for him, put the US over NINE TRILLION DOLLARS in debt (debt he himself won't have to repay, of course; that's for your children and grandchildren to do, unless you're wealthy, then you won't have to pay a dime, due to his tax cuts for the rich), and threatens to veto children's healthcare for $60 Billion. "Tax Cuts" for the Wealthy" spur the economy. WHOSE economy? China's, India's and Mexico's? All they do with the tax cut, is outsource MORE labor, relocate MORE plants and factories to other countries and award themselves even MORE millions in bonuses, which, thanks to Bush, they don't have to pay taxes on.

To say this man has forgotten who he's supposed to be President for is a gross exaggeration.

Would you agree that Big OIl, Big Drugs and Big Business have had ENOUGH representation in Washington? That taxpayer-funded subsidies for corporations making tens of Billions of dollars per fiscal quarter is an obscene waste of taxpayer money? That bombing New Jersey because there's a criminal you're after in Nebraska makes no sense at all?

Can someone explain to me why the "Wealthiest Nation on the Planet" even HAS a poverty level? Why we even HAVE Homeless Shelters? Or schools. levees and bridges in this country only held together by chewed bubblegum and prayers? That we have hungry children in this country RIGHT NOW, and all the "Pro-Life" rallies in the WORLD don't feed those children ONE mouthful of food, or send them to schools to learn how to feed themselves.

Bush wants $190 Billion MORE for Iraq, yet threatens to veto US children's Healthcare. At what point did he forget he was AMERICA'S President and decide he was IRAQ'S new President?

No, that is one of the few things he has done that could help the republican party. Republicans do not vote for someone if they act like a socialist.
