Happiness must come from within. It has nothing to do with material goods or the lack of. You are only unhappy if you allow yourself to be unhappy. No one can make you unhappy or happy or angry or sad. You must allow yourself to be any of those things.

"If you always want what you have then you'll always have what you want."

Attitude brings happiness, in my view. You can't choose what happens to you - look at all the people born with an illness or disability, all the people who lose loved ones, all the people who live in dreadful poverty or in war zones. The only thing you can choose is how you respond to your situation. You can approach every day trying to get something good out of it and looking for the best in others, or you can sit feeling sorry for yourself.

The best thing under the sun is being under the sun, as a wise person once said. If you've got life, you've got something precious, something that makes everything else possible.

If you're rich but not happy, maybe using your good fortune to help others would help you find the way to happiness? I don't just mean giving money - give your time and interest. Kind words and encouragement from you could make others blossom. You could really make a difference in this world.

If you're poor, you can still give something really precious - yourself. Start an afterschool club to help underprivileged kids, spend time with lonely seniors, give the gift of your time and attention and respect. Once you stop chasing happiness, and think about filling your time with positive work for others, happiness may just start chasing you.

Although this is hard to achieve, Contentment can make you happy or bring happiness to your life.

Both Poverty and wealth are aspects that can make anyone either to be contented or not. The discontented poor wants to have all and the other everything. If the goals of both the poor and the wealthy are not achieved as an undesired result, gives a negative effect to both parties.

In a way, no matter how wealthy or poor a person is if he is content of what he has there is peace in his mind, he can always smile happiness is the easiest to achieve.

No matter what you have, material or etherial be content and Smile!!! :D

The real secret to happiness is a lot simpler than anyone may imagine.
The answer is success. I don't just mean having a great job and home etc, i mean daily success.
Go to bed at night with a goal. Something small, something extra to your daily life. Make it a game and play it alongside the things you normally have to do. Wake up in the morning with the challenge on your mind, but not in place of your daily duties. It could be something like 'today i will find a penny, one cent if you're american!' play the goal until its finished, then you will find a small satisfaction. Then increase the size of your goal, for example 'today i will achieve 2 pennies'
each time you achieve a goal, you will feel a sense of satisfaction, and as the size of your achieveble goal goes up, so to will your sense of achievement, your self ego, and your happiness. Try it!

That's not hard to answer. Ask yourself honestly. Poverty and wealth play a role but that's not the key thing. It's within ourselves. If you expect too much from other people and don't want to compromise. Trust. And I could say more... But above
all of this LOVE and Faith in God.

I think if you're going to be unhappy, it's better to be unhappy with wealth. (proves that money can't buy happiness) Envy the guy that finds happiness, even in poverty !

People. Only people can bring you happiness. A lottery win has to be celebrated with someone to be enjoyed.
Triumphs, failures and life itself can only be happily experienced when one looks back at the people you shared those moments with.
Only people bring the joy.
