when there is no hope of redemption ... when there is no remorse .. when there is absolutely NO DOUBT of guilt...
In SOME cases ... MOST definitely ...
There are those that call for the death sentence for child molestors and rapists ... now while those crimes are extremely vile .. and abhorrent .. I would be hesitant to call for the death penalty ... WHY ?
well my theory is .. if a paedophile or a rapist KNOWS they will be executed for their actions .. THEY may resort to killing their victims in an attempt to avoid identification ... that is .. if the sentence for rape/paedophillia is Death ,, and the sentence for murder is death .. what does a rapist paedophile have to lose by killing their victims, nothing more than had they just raped or abused them ...
I believe making those crimes have a capital punishment as a sentence .. would increase the murder rate.
( does that make sense????)

yes definately!
however, capital punishment should only be used in a case where a person admits the crime or there is no evidence to prove it happened any other way. In cases where there is evidence for and against, it shouldn't even be considered in case of mistakes.
capital punishment does deter but some people are undetered by anything and are going to commit crimes such as murder etc, regardless of the outcome if they are caught.
a life for a life isn't what it should be in todays courts as life sentences are 25 yrs when young people will be out before they die.
paedophiles should be automatically entered into the capital punishment system, along with serial killers, facist dictators, and terrorists
the system is far too leniant now, which is why crime is such a big issue these days.
it should be brought back as long as it is used in the correct way.

Capital punishment is proven to be:
- Ineffective in preventing crimes.
- Costly, because of extremely high legal costs before execution.
- A demonstration of the barbarian nature of the government.
- Impossible to convict with absolute certainty. DNA evidence does not prove guilt. Evidence has been planted many times to frame innocent people. The perfect murder can include framing an innocent person.
This act of murder is irreversable and is not justified. It demonstrates that the government feels that killing is OK.

NO !
Firstly because as we have seen in recent years, there has been many miscarriages of justice...and obviously that cannot be made right once Capital Punishment has taken place..so that's one of my concerns !
Secondly because quite frankly for the likes of Ian Huntley and people of that nature..i feel it is too quick and too easy..he should be made to suffer and live with his conscience....and the torment of his horrific crime !

No. We've decided it was inhumane and cruel, so let's leave it like that. But I would like to know that the term life imprisonment means just that - for life.

Part of me wants to say yes ... I mean an eye for an eye. But honestly I have to say no. You can never be sure of guilt.
