I would 2 students at my college who had good grades but who are broke as hell and I'd give them each $500 to do with what they please. They could buy food or treat themselves to a lush weekend.

It is definitely hard to do it. $1000 is a big amount. I can have a lot of things with that. If you simply ask that question, it is easy to say 'yes'. But the question is, will we actually pass it forward? And the difficult part here is, to someone we don't know. I should think smartly when I experience this situation. Because if that "someone" is not deserving to have the money, for example he is an addict, and will just waste it, use it for unnecessary things, well absolutely no. But if that "someone" is very much in need of the $1000, a beggar, a poor man, an orphan, a lonely person, no companions in life, well I guess I should. ♥

OK, there are two charitable organizations that are near and dear to my heart. They are:

1) Doctors Without Borders (from the website):
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent international medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters, or exclusion from health care in more than 70 countries.

2)Amnesty International (again, from the website):
Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights. AI’s vision is of a world in which every person enjoys all of the human rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights standards.

Here is a where you can find the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: http://web.amnesty.org/pages/aboutai-udhr-eng

I would divide the money between the two.

Go onto a city bus and hand the envelope of cash to one of those poor immigrant families with children.

Pass it on to someone I saw really needed the money. I would not just give it to the first person I saw. I would make sure they needed it and would spend it to help their family.

Pass it forward to someone I don't know. Probably the homeless guy I see everyday on my way to work.
