I hate conkers! You can't eat them and I don't have a horse. What I do have is an enormous horse chestnut in my neighbour's garden. His house has a traditional huge Swiss roof and every Autumn I am continuously disturbed in the night by the sound of conkers falling on the roof - or worse, because it's louder, falling on the roof of his car.

Never on the head no but I do remember having seriously bruised knuckles from playing conkers with my brother as a child. No wonder they banned it in playgrounds!

yes theres something satisfying about it, but word of warning dont throw them, i got a hit by someone who had thrown them at someone else made a massive gash on my eyebrow thought i was blind.......
