People died to give us the right to vote. I don't think it is too much to expect us to take 15 minutes out of our busy schedules to get to out polling stations & place our votes.
Everyone complains about the government but i believe we get the leadership we deserve. If you do not vote you have no-one to blame but yourself.

Because of the apathy that has developed in a two party state that doesn't REALLY offer any difference in policy? Is that a good reason?
I think FINALLY the conservatives have made a decent stand and got some half decent policies out there. I severly doubt they will carry them all through, and I'm expecting Brown to jump on the bandwagon, do a few U turns again and make the same policies next week, but hey.
I'll be voting to get Labour out as quickly as possible.

No. We supposedly live in a democracy, which can only truly exist if people use their vote. When people don't vote they leave the door open for scammers to use it instead of them as seems possibly what happened in the last election.
Really in a democracy, you should vote for who you choose, even if it's a minority party, rather than voting for the 'lesser evil' . Like voting Conservative instead of Labour hoping that it will get rid of Labour, when you really want to vote for Homes Before Roads or something. Can't say I always stick to this ideal myself, but it's a good argument for proportional representation

If I do get the chance to vote, I will use it. In history, not all of us had the right to vote. It is a right that people fought to achieve in the past. Ironically, people today take for granted the chance that can make a big difference in our lives.

Yes I will and I would vote for the BNP. Perhaps if Labour and Tory MP's were given a wake up call up by not getting elected they might start to do something good for this country.

Yes... The major party candidates support the illegal attack and occupation of independent countries in the Middle East despite their rhetoric. Voting only encourages them.
According to the media, any vote outside the major candidates is a wasted vote. I suggest that you boycott the election or vote Green. Vote for strong anti-imperial candidates only.

If you don't vote you can't moan at about who is elected.
Women have had the vote for less than 100 years. Its so sad that people had to fight so hard to get the right and now people just can't be bothered.

there is no excuse not to vote.many thousands of people sacrificed all in order to uphold democracy.the saying- all it takes for evil to triumph is the good to do nothing.- is as true today as it was 300 years ago when it was written.if you still will not vote then you have no leg to stand on if and when you do not agree with the elected policy.

I think that voting should be made compulsory. I'm sick of hearing people complain about politics when they didn't use their right to have their say. Although we would have to introduce a white vote, for people to state that they don't like the policies of any of the parties. That would reduce the level of mandate the winning political party could claim to have when making decisions for us.
