It would definitely have to be Michael Keaton. He put the man in Batman. Plus points for being a convincingly good Batman against an equally if not even greater Joker by Jack Nicholson, a purrfect Catwoman by Michelle Pfeiffer, and the Big Bird by Danny De Vito. Now that was stellar casting for two Batman movies!
The other Batmans simply lack the dark side (or in Christian Bale's case, too much darkness) to portray the broken psyche of the Bat.

Seriously though Adam West was just perfect in the role he took on the persona of Batman like a second skin.
I did enjoy Micheal Keaton last night in the return of batman though....though more truthfully Michele FiFfer she was terrific as Catwoman.

I usually would say George because he's so damn sexy. But in Batman terms...I would say Michael Keaton is THE Batman for me, although I really liked Christian Bale, he gave an awesome performance.
