If homosexuality is a choice, why are so many people trying to be "cured" of it? If it's a choice, why do so many people fight against it in themselves, some for their entire lives? The only reason it even gets considered as "a choice," is because in this society you have to choose whether or not you're going to let others know about it because so many people have a negative view of it.
One scientific study discovered that a group of men who were straight and were opposed to homosexuality responded positively to gay male porn (as registered by a device attached to their penises), yet denied (despite their recorded erections) that it had any effect on them.

To those who say sexuality is a choice are basically saying that they choose to be heterosexual. It's only fair. So what they are saying is that there is a possiblity that everyone could be a homosexual however, some choose to be hetero.
Makes sense.
All I can say is, I didn't wake up one morning, stretch and say "Today, I am going to be a lesbian"
And I'm sure Rick James didn't wake up and say "Today, I'm going to be a superfreak"
It just doesn't work that way, to accept that theory is to accept all theories.
Homosexuality, is not a learned beavior bc 9 out of 10 gays/lesbians came from heterosexual parents....so where was it learned? How did we not that same sex relationships were an option? Especially, those who are at least 30 years and older. Where would we have learned that behavior.
Homosexuality has existed since A.D and B.C. it's not going anywhere. It has existed that long but yet people still seem to be multiplying by the millions.

Interesting question.
If homosexuality is based only on genes, I suspect it would still exist because some homosexuals do reproduce, being forced into marriages, being raped, being convinced that homosexuality is wrong and so trying to live a heterosexual life, experimenting with sexuality at a young age, etc.
I doubt it's based only on genetics, though. I also don't think it's purely by choice. Personally, I think bisexuality is likely the most natural state, and as people grow up, their environment helps to determine what, and who, they will find attractive. I think it may be similar to the way that heterosexuals find different traits attractive in the opposite sex. Genetics may play some part, but I don't think it is the only reason. Attraction and emotion are more complex than that.

Nobody knows and we will probably never know. I view it on a par with heterosexuals who like big breasts or smooth butts. How can that be explained? Or those who date only the same race or prefer other races. (I am only drawn to asians for some reason) Same thing with gays and lesbians who like big wangs or fellatio or cunninglis and as for love though I am not a Christian I am fully aware of them believing that god is love and if so then same sex love is a part of divine creation and so is same sex eroticism. The idea of their being a gay gene is not feasable the reason is how does that (Gay gene) affect who we love?

1. we are born assexual not gay. we are neautral because we are not developed yet
2. theories of demons have said to be that cause by many christians
3. Whatever bad expiriences happened to a person such as no father which causes men to turn gay because they use their male partner as a way to get that male influence. Rape is another cause of this of this becuase they feel as if they must do it becuase they have been destoyed inside
4. Women have bodies that both sexes appreciate so sometimes that can cause a woman to turn lesbian. Also rape is always a factor.
5. Sometimes it is caused when someone is around the opposite sex and they want to relate to them espcially when they are hurt by a ceratian gender so they become gay in order to sypathize with their sex
6. Human body and sex are very tempting to the averase person so some people just want the thrill and experiment with anybody.

lol I think people are tired of answering these questions...like who cares anyway?
Whatever it is that "causes" it just let it be....
I doubt anyone will choose to be "gay" because it is not an eazy life, and many people actually have a hard time accepting their orientation....I do believe that people are born like that, and its only coz I belive God wanted Diversity....and its great that way...just like he made black people, asian people and white people...how boring would it be if everyone was straight...and if the world was in this one big order where everyone was the same ....its just diversity and it happends...
I believe a human can do anything they want as long as its not hurting anyone, and homosexuality doesnt hurt anyone, gay people are actually really nice and for some things have a different view on life and you can learn something from them ya know...so yeah, just let it be...:)

What makes you think homosexuals don't reproduce??
Historically and presently, homosexuals are looked upon as sub-human... therefore.... a lot of gay men/women stay 'in the closet'.. they marry, have kids and fool around with same-sexed people on the side. So, the 'gene' is carried on in their children.
I've been with many men who are married and have kids.

The real question here is, why are some people born emotionally crippled and unable to form relationships with half the prospective partners available to them (a deficiency shared by heterosexual and homosexual alike).

Well...i read recently that scientifically homosexual men its kind of like a birth defect.....different triggers of testosterone fire off at the saem time or not at all and messes with growth in the brain for certin things. Women on the otherhand are completely different they dont fire off testosterone like we do...they are mostly estrogen....and from thoser studys theres nothing physical for women its all a matter of will they choose too. But thats just scientific study ...it can be flawed.

Where does attraction to the opposite sex originate? It's the same for us.
Obviously, if God wanted gay people to "die out," He would not have us created generation after generation by heterosexuals.
