I've never personally met any member of the Royal family but I know people who have. Prince Philip is apparently extremely witty.

I've been to a few lunches where Prince Phillip was the guest of honour. He's a bit of an old fascist (so are most of his generation), but good value.
I've also met Chuck and Di, but I was about number 90 in the line-up. (Hello, have you come far? - next).

Spoke to prince phillip as a brownie (guard of honour) on a royal visit - he asked "do you wear your uniform every day?"
Being a tad young I replied "Nuh, only on Saturdays"
He was obviously enjoying himself, then got the "look" from her majesty and quickened his step!!

I was at a set of traffic lights in Edinburgh once and the Queens car pulled up next to mine at the traffic lights....she was with one of her ladies in waiting i think...not talking to each other. We were there for a couple of minutes and as we looked over (as you would!) she looked me straight in the eye so me and my mate gave her a polite little wave and a nod of the head, just to say 'hello your maj' etc...we are quite nice people...not chavs, good jobs, nice car and the like....
She completely blanked us. Totally ignored the pair of us, it's as if we weren't even there, stared straight through me she did!
So my one brush with royalty was not a good one..it wouldn't have cost her anything (does she pay for anything anyway?) just to smile and say hello? eh? Manners are free aren't they? when my parents raised me i was expected to respond politely when anyone said hello to me but i suppose she's the bloody queen and doesn't have to play by the bloody rules. The Cow.
Anyway, Gawd bless her cotton socks......
