I think many of the world's problems are the result of recognizing the bad rather than the good.

Nicely put question. Here's a star for you.

First and foremost is understanding the state of mind matters as this is one of the foremost important thing for most of the psychological problems of today as some people do face situations of frustration out of mere injustice around the incidence which is bound to happen.
Including things which is been done by their near and dear ones,
Society Issues
People Issues
Everyone seem to be working their way to out of fear and not love for mankind as most of the religion teaches to forget and forgive, thatz the remedy to get close to ones heart. Don't get disturbed as everyone is committed to Sin.
One Persons perception as describing good can be a bad thing for the other who is going through or the person, it all depends how you look at it
Famous saying is that Its all about Attitude
It's all about seeking for right answers as you did, well this forum may be few who can show a small peak inside a whole ocean to discover. I believe every religion and spiritual seeker knows that the true nature of human being is craving for love which inturn is the reflection of greed itself. So i think, moving and looking and moving makes the life more interesting as these are the same people and society which has given happiness in some form. I can go onnnn.. on the subject of depression and how negative intentions of dislike of ones behavior, will disturb ones growth and adaptability.

Have a nice day,
Bala

You are right. Many of us forget that people are good. It is a good idea to start dealing with others with trust rather than doubt. I have seen most people start with doubt rather than trust. Whichever way, if the other peson is anyway bad you cant help. Neither can you help if the other person is good.

So why lose your mental peace by thiking of the bad? Think of the good. You may be taken for a ride, but then it is with your permission.

I'm not convinced that people are good.
Some are, but certainly not all.
I don't even know the ratio of good to evil in humanity. Maybe there are more bad people than good ones.

to err is human .to forgive divine.
it is the human nature to get frustrated, & have fight with them.

if a person realises what u have said & starts practising it in his life, he has reached a higher spiritual level then us petty humans. he is closer to god.
so try to get close to god, forgive people.

This feeling should go as you grow older and wiser, or it should do.
