Considering the past record, where India had won at Kochi by batting first,, Dhoni should have decided to bat first. However, the dampness in the pitch and the conditions prompted him to field first, for which he cannot blamed as india got 2 quick wickets. However, indian bowlers failed to put the pressure on rest of Australian batsmen, which was the reason why India lost the match.

Hi! ANSWER

Dhoni's Decision to choose fielding first was correct in Kochi was wrong. The Indian team did not cooperate with each other.
And all the young players were depending upon the siniars players.
That was the wrong thing thay did.

It is not an excuse.Still to field first with two spinners in the team was wrong.
I feel that with the present rule to wchange the ball(though not a new ball) in the 35th over the spinners will find it more difficult unless the pitch itself is helpful to the spinners. The pitch is comparatively more helpful to spinners in the second part.
They would have done definitely better at least going down with lower margin.
Under the present conditions we can use spinners from 16th over and think about the third power play between 35-39 overs subject to the field conditions

This is what we do to all captains. If we win, he has made all right decisions and if we lose, we question his decisions, rigt from Toss, selection and field placements, sitting in our arm chair. We have never played that level cricket in our life time, but will question every action of the players from shot selection to bowling action. These things go to extremes when we burn our players house when they lose. Behave cheaply in stadiums. I thing we need to behave properly. You may not like my answer, but, the fact is fact. No other country people do things like this. This year in T20 Australia lost in semi-final. They are World Champions. But there people did not behave like this or question their captains action.

Let saner thinking prevail.

So just one loss by Dhoni overrides his WORLD CUP winning captainship?

Its really sad that our great country has many hasty and foolish dim-wits.
