what if you get scared half to death twice

Let's see...assuming the effect from the first instance has not diminshed by the onset of the second, you would be scared 75% to death. If, however, the effect of the first instance has diminished, as it can be expected to, let us represent the remaining percentage "to death" you are scared, at the onset of the second incident, with the variable Sd. After the second incident, you would be scared (Sd/2) to death.

Depends on how much time there is between the two scares. If you get scared but not all the way to death, your life actually begins to fill up again. So, if you've had enough time to refill then nothing happens. The trick is to scare someone half to death three times in a row...
