The Crow and the Pitcher

One day a very thirsty crow was flying over a farm and he saw a pitcher sitting on a picnic table in the backyard behind a farmhouse. Hoping to find water, he flew to it with delight. When he reached it, he discovered to his grief that it contained so little water that he could not possibly get at it. He tried everything he could think of to reach the water, but all his efforts were in vain. At last he collected as many stones as he could carry and dropped them one by one with his beak into the pitcher, until he brought the water within his reach and thus saved his life.

You need a picture depicting the story (probably for some school project) and ppl seem to be confused with the way you phrased your question. Check out Soupkitten's reply and the wikipedia link that she has provided - it has a picture.

You can also use Google image search with "the crow and the pitcher" as search term and look for other pictures.

A cow was very thirsty. He saw a pot with little water. So he made a hole at the bottom. The water dripped out side. The crow drank the water and flew away.

In this fable, a crow finds a pitcher with water level below the reach of its beak. Since it couldn’t push the pitcher over, it cleverly dropped in pebbles one at a time, until the water rose to the top of the pitcher allowing the crow to drink.

The moral of the story is that thoughfulness is superior to brute strength. This gave rise to the old adage, “Necessity is the mother of invention.”
