If you ever intend to take your baby anywhere in a car you need a suitable car seat, so you might want to consider getting one. You don't have to carry your baby in the seat - simply carry the baby in your arms, or use a pushchair, to and from the car. If you are walking or taking the bus, the easiest way to transport a young baby is in a front carrier, which it sits in on your chest.

it might not help you in the short term but have you joined a local Freecycle group, you could look and see if any pram's are on there or put a wanted post,
, that way the baby has something comfortable to lie down in,for the future I'm also assuming you meant you don't have a car and the car seat is to heavy to carry, you could put the baby in the car seat and taxi there maybe,
does you buggy have a lie back bit in which case you can swaddle the baby in a blanket or something and then strap in the whole bundle so to speak
or do you have a friend with a pram they could lend you or willing to give you a lift there,
other than that get a baby sling or borrow one having had 7 children i have found sometimes when its to awkward to go somewhere with the buggy i found a sling was fantastic
hope you find a solution soon

Try taking the bus or train? Or call a cab company and request a taxi to come collect you with a baby car seat. Some company's have car seats they will put in the cab beforehand for you. If you book the cab ahead of time they can usually work this out.
And i don't know why he wouldn't fit in the stroller? Doesn't it have straps or lay back? Try ringing a friend with kids and asking him/her to take you or if nothings works, ring the hospital and explain the situation. They may have a midwife house call service or other doctors office closer to you they can refer you to so you could just walk there.

if you don't have a car seat how did you get home from the hospital after you had your baby.
if you have a car seat but its to heavy for you to carry have someone go with you or go by yourself and carry your baby in.

Contact the hospital and explain this to them. I was not ready for carrying a car seat, driving or anything strenuous 3 days after birth so im surprised they are expecting you to.
Tell them you have no help and request a house call instead.

Did you mean you don't have a car?? yes, those car seats are very heavy to carry around. how about a front carrier or some type of sling to carry your baby in? much easier than carrying around a car seat, and baby would be safe.

If you don,t have a car seat , how can it be too heavy for you to carry? Buy a pram , or just carry him in your arms in a blanket. You should,ve spent more time in the hospital , it would,ve given you time to recuperate and it also means they can keep an eye on the baby
