My fiance is to be Godfather to his nephew on Saturday. He is wondering is there any gift he would be traditionally supposed to get. We'll be getting the child a gift anyway but he wonders is there anything traditional like rosary beads or a prayer book. He's asked the parents and they don't know so I think he's silly to worry about it but any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

"christening" is a man made tradition (baptism is for remission of sins and is being immersed in water. not sprinkled or dabbed) and to do this the person must hear believe God's word, then repent and confess that htey believe in Jesus as God's son and then are baptised for forgiveness of sins and obey God and do their best to follow his word. THE Very best gift would be God's word the Holy Bible so the child can read the truth and make the right decision when the time of accountablility arrives.
