3 MEN GO INTO A MOTEL. THE MAN BEHIND THE DESK SAID THE ROOM IS
$30, SO EACH MAN PAID $10 AND WENT TO THE ROOM.

$25, SO HE SENT THE BELLBOY TO THE 3 GUYS' ROOM WITH $5.

ON THE WAY, THE BELLBOY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO SPLIT $5 EVENLY
BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A $1 AND KEPT THE OTHER $2 FOR
HIMSELF.

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID $9 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A
TOTAL OF $27, ADD THE $2 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = $29.

WHERE IS THE OTHER DOLLAR?

the key to the riddle is to keep the description on $30 long, so no one would notice that the $2 the bellboy kept was added instead of subtracted, which would end up with the guys paying $25 to the room and $2 to the boy, and $27 total. $30 has nothing to do with the final number they paid, nor $29.

the extra was supposed to go to the 3rd guy but was taken by the bellboy here are the details to the problem the cashier got 5 dollars for all 3 men meaning he should have gotten $1 from each then restart so he gets $1 from the first guy $1 from the second $1 from the 3rd again he takes $1 from the first and $1 to the second meaning that he got $5 he takes the bell boy up and he didnt know how to split it so he just took $2 and gave $1 each meaning the second and the first guy were robbed by $1 each

$30 in total minus the $2 the bellboy got. so its 28 not 29 the money isnt evenly divided so i guess the third man has the dollar

No, the guys each paid $8.33 (x 3 = $25) for the room and contributed $0.67 (x 3 = $2) to the bellboy. Each guy had one dollar returned to them from their original $10 payment they each made.

$8.33 + $0.67 + $1.00 = $10.00

Maybe the bellboy can spot you two dollars so you can buy an education.

That question is stupid. Here's the simple logic, subtracts 3 from 30 and adds 2 to get 29. Simple as that.

10-1=9 or 3(10-1)=27 or 30-3=27
10-1=9
10-1=9

Then you add 2. Dumb question.
