My sister lives in a bungalow which is worth £180.000,I am trying to get her a quote for buildings insurance and one of the question is how much would it cost to rebuild the bungalow if destroyed,Can anybody give me an idea on a figure please?

it might be worth £180000 but that tells us nothing ..give a description of the bungalow ..how many bedrooms etc ..brick or render ..detached....ballpark figure £90000.max

I would insure for at least the current market value for total rebuilding costs could well exceed that figure, also the way property prices are increasing a more realistic figure would more likely be £200,000.

first get the area of the building in square feet. building costs in the UK vary between £80 -£120 per square foot. This is dependent on finish. £100 per sqf would be a good average.
