The reason why Orkut was banned is that Orkut is a hidden spam zombie creation machine - when you use Orkut your machine is infected with viruses and trojans that make your machine into a spam zombie, so whenever you turn your computer on, you begin to send out thousands of spam messages each second, and search out other machines on the same network to infect and make into spam zombies as well. Entire college campuses were turned into multi-million message per second spam houses under the control of international criminal cartels, and were also used as platforms to execute DDOS attacks against servers. So stick to the safer websites and dont bother trying to go to Orkut again.
