In the west region of Georgia the climate is subtropical, in the east - temperate. Average temparatures in January: +3 -9C in the Kolkhidsky plain and in Adjariya; -2C in Everiysky cavity.
In the mountain regions Svanetiya and Djavakheti winter temperature is about -16 -20C.
IN the mountain regions snow falls in November and remains till March-April.
Georgia is the country of mountain resorts, skiing is very popular, so snow is definitely there.

Does it "usually" snow in Atlanta .
No. Occasionally, yes, but not usually. Atlanta experiences, on average, one ice storm every other year or so --- usually between mid-December and mid-March. Yes, a snowstorm or mild icestorm will usually throw the city into a tizzy, effectively shutting it down for a day. However, snowstorms & such are such an infrequent occurrence here that it's not worth the municipal money to invest in snow plows, etc. --- which is precisely why Atlanta shuts down for a day. We're poorly equipped to handle the rare bouts of snow and ice.

There can be but it depends. I don't think this year we will have much due to having such a hot summer but who knows. I have always lived in Georgia and I was born in a Georgia snow storm back in the 80's one of the worst in Georgia ever.

It's snowing in my part of Georgia as well!! Or at least it was, now it's slowly melting.....Ah well it was fun while it lasted. I even made a mini snowman ^_^ I wish it would have stayed a little longer, it's not fair to tease us like that. It's been years since we've had any snow. I'll just send a prayer out that I wake up to a beautiful white morning(so I don't have to go to work!)
