i would go to hokkaido during the winter (sapporo), kyoto during the spring (philosophers walk=cherry blossoms), and tokyo/osaka in the summer!
japan looks so amazing! its soo beautiful! wouldnt want to live there... but i would definitely make a LONG term visit!

Japan all the way! That's where all the manga and anime come from! I hope I will be able to go there some day... Who knows? I might just meet one of the famous mangaka there!

Both places have their appeals and downsides. I hear that there can be some particularly separatist traits about both places especially if you don't fit in well culturally or linguistically. I study Japanese because I couldn't handle doing two languages at the time so currently my preference lies with Japan but I'm still interested in learning French. In terms of living in Japan however, I hear that, particularly if you really stand out as being foreign, there is a pervasive us and them mentality that can leave you feeling a complete outsider no matter how integrated you are.

Japan for me! The people are friendly and it is so beautiful! All of my family is there too. I want to go camping in Hokkaido and find the natural hot springs. Where would you go in Japan?
