I go four full days, do not extend to seven days unless it's really a "hot question" (this is especially rare now, since trolls and overzealous "reporters" forced me to make my Q/A "private"). Only if I don't get to it in time does it go "In Voting". Otherwise, I I always resolve the questions, favoring the good witty answers over the morons, point-gamers and Wikipedia freaks.

Anywhere from 8 hours to a day, I usually leave them open longer to give my contacts a chance to answer it!!

Usually no more than a day. Anyone who's going to answer usually does so in an hour or so and I like to share the points asap.
